RESULTS

KIRS boats continue to compete at Olympic and World Championship Level.

Duncan Grant defended his Lightweight World Championship Title in 2009 showing his true class. In the same mould, K7.9, Graham Oberlin-Brown won the U23 World Championship Lightweight Title in 2008 to keep the boat unbeaten in this event for three years in succession.

Mahe Drysdale showed his true class by winning the 2009 World Championship and in the process set the World's Best Time. The K8.35 mould once again set the World’s Best Time for the Men’s Single Scull. Mahe has now picked up four World Championship Title’s in a KIRS and and Olympic Bronze.

The Australian lightweight four continued to use the K12 mould and have done for the past 3 Olympics. This moulds success was show by the New Zealand Women’s Junior Coxless Four picking up a World Championship Title in 2008 at Linz.

The continued development of the larger boat moulds has produced successive podium finishes over the past three years at the Junior Worlds. The New Zealand Junior Men’s 8+, using the K17.5, have picked up a gold and two silvers in 2008, 2007 and 2006
